PREVENTION

Emergency Assistance Program

Provides rent and utility service assistance for those facing eviction or utility cut-off Maintains a weekend lunch program through a partnered effort with OASIS Ministries (Soup Kitchen) Supervises food-referral vouchers to supplement food stamps assistance

 

PARC Family Shelter

Provides short term 30 bed facility for families in crisis; Counseling and case management; Tutoring for school-age children; Resources to assist families facing chronic dependencies or who lack hope

 

STABILIZATION

Supportive Family Living Program

Supportive environment which fosters change and helps families take positive steps toward self-sufficiency

 

HOME-Tenant Based Rental Assistance (Home-TBRA)

12 month rental assistance to homeless families and individuals; participants agree to actively pursue plans to seek employment and become fully independent

 

Supportive Family Living Program (SFLP)

24 months support for highly motivated homeless families determined to be self-sufficient Job training, case management, transportation, child care, health assistance, financial and career management

BREAKING THE CYCLE

Single Adult Barrier Reduction Exchange (SABRE)

Rental assistance, short-term health care, basic needs, transportation and job training for 10 undeserved, disabled homeless single adults

 

Step Up To Responsibility (SUTR)

 

Pilot program to assist 5 single adults and 5 single-parent families of very low income we provide transitional housing up to 12 month

 

CLEARINGHOUSE

The Portsmouth Area Resources Coalition maintains a data base of assistance provided by area human services agencies to meet basic needs of deserving individuals and families in order to avoid duplication of services.
