Join us for a lovely 5K stroll through Olde Towne Portsmouth, beginning at Portside, as we work to strengthen our community and help our neighbors in need.   This year's Annual Walk for Hope will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2pm (check-in starts at 1:30pm).  Anyone can join. Children in strollers and dogs on leashes  are welcome. The Walk will start and finish Portside (between the Visitor's Center and the Renaissance Hotel).

Park in the Middle Street Garage or on the nearby streets at no cost. There will be at least one rest stop en route as well as refreshments at the finish line. Come out and join your church, organization, family, or friends in having fun to raise money to help others. A portion of the net proceeds will be forwarded to Church World Services for their use.

On Oct 9th, organizations and groups of people should meet near the registration table to sign in. Maps will be available at the registration table showing rest and refreshment stops. Watch for Walk for H-O-P-E signs marking turns in the route.  Please do not litter the streets.

Absolutely no recreational wheels such as bikes, roller skates, and skate boards are allowed.  Please do not bring boom boxes.  In case of inclement weather, call 393-7848 for a recorded message of change to rain site.

In addition to walking, here are the many other ways you can help:

  • Register to join us for a lovely 5K Walk through Olde Towne Portsmouth and raise money for PARC through  contributions you gather from your support system  (walk as an individual or as a team - $5 per person)
  • Pledge a donation to support the overall Walk for Hope or to support specific walkers (see supporter levels)
  • Pledge to be a corporate sponsor (see sponsorship levels). Corporate teams of walkers are also welcomed!
  • Pledge to sponsor in-kind services (ex. T-shirts, ponchos,refreshments, medals, etc.)

Any dollar amount you enter will be accepted. Each Sponsorship and Supporter level begins at the minimum dollar amount listed for that level and includes the range of dollar amounts up to the next level's minimum dollar amount (ex. a business or individual donating $3,000 would be a Shelter Sponsor, while a corporation or individual donating $300 would be a Gold Supporter).
